The competence center sees itself as a hub between research and teaching on the one hand, and business, politics and institutions on the other, with the aim of developing a comprehensive and holistic view in a resilient cooperation and interaction between the complex topics in the value and supply chain: tourism, culture, and creative industries as well as art.
In the field of tension between globalization, the economy, pandemics, climate change, digitization and automation, there is interest in a holistic view of the vulnerability of this supply chain and its networks.
The cultural and creative industries can offer possible resilient solutions to a number of increasing challenges that are sustainable and can be supported by research and innovation activities.
These challenges are:
– creativity, cultural diversity and values;
– identity and cohesion;
– Employment, economic resilience and smart growth and
– Europe as a global actor.
The creativity and cultural diversity of Austria and Europe also depends, among other things, on resilient and robust cultural and creative sectors. However, these sectors face a number of challenges due to increasing competition from global players, climate change and digital change.
The development of risk-reducing strategies and resilience strategies require innovations in qualitative and quantitative concepts, models, methods and tools in the area of risk assessment as well as modeling and simulation in order to determine the degree of resilience required at the state and corporate level.
Technologies in the supply chain are increasingly of strategic importance as a backbone for optimizing supply chains in order to ensure efficiency, security and profitability.
Our competence center has a network of experts for all important topics related to the topic portfolio: tourism, culture and creative industries as well as art.
